Official North Dakota Motor Vehicle License Plates

The NDSU Alumni Association and the North Dakota Department of Transportation are pleased to provide an opportunity to show your Bison Pride every day as you drive your vehicle around the state and across the country.  By supporting this 'pride promotion', you also directly support North Dakota State University, since part of the revenue is returned for NDSU student and outreach programs.

Facts about the program

1. Anyone who has a registered North Dakota vehicle can secure a plate. You do not need to be an NDSU alumnus or student.
    
2. How can an NDSU license plate be ordered?
   1. Contact ND DOT at (701) 328-2725 and press 1.
   2. Click http://www.dot.nd.gov/forms/sfn54397.pdf to complete, print and mail the form.
       
3. Fees: To purchase the NDSU plate, the cost is $25. The State will return $15 of this fee to the University. After the initial purchase, you will be assessed an annual NDSU license plate fee of $25, plus your regular tag renewal fees on your normal anniversary registration statement.
    
4. There will be 5 alpha/numeric characters on the NDSU plate, numbered from 30000-30999. You can secure a vanity plate for an additional fee. Click here to check availability of letter/numerical license plate characters
