NDSU Alumni FAQs

Q. How do I become a member of the Alumni Association?
A. The NDSU Alumni Association is a dues-free organization. Graduates of NDSU receive automatic membership once a degree is conferred. Former students may request membership by contacting the office at office@ndsualumni.com or contact Lori Gartzke at 1-800-279-8971.
 
Q. How do I change my name, address, e-mail or occupation or any other personal information?
A. Click here to access and manage your alumni directory profile. This service is free. You will need a user ID and password to access your account. If you are unsure of your user name and password, contact the NDSU Alumni Association at 1-800-279-8971 or email office@ndsualumni.com
 
Q. Who receives Bison Briefs and the NDSU Magazine?
A. Bison Briefs is a tabloid and theNDSU Magazine is a bi-annual magazine and is available to all NDSU graduates and donors.  Former students and friends may receive these publications. Electronic versions of Bison Briefs and the NDSU Magazine are available at www.ndsualumni.com.
 
Q. How do I submit a letter to the editor, story idea or information for the Class Notes portion of Bison Briefs?
A. To submit a comment or information for class notes or obituaries, please contact University Relations at 701-231-1068, or click here to complete an online form.
 
Q. How do I nominate someone for an award?
A. Over the last 53 years, more than 250 NDSU alumni and friends have been honored for their career accomplishments and service to the university. There are four award categories: the Alumni Achievement Award, Heritage Award for Alumni Service, Horizon Award, and Henry L. Bolley Academic Achievement Award. To submit a nomination or learn more about these awards click here or call the Alumni Association at 800-279-8971 or email Marilyn@ndsualumni.com.
 
Q. When is the next homecoming?
A. For homecoming dates, check the NDSU Alumni Association events calendar by clicking here. There are numerous reunions and gatherings that take place around homecoming so keep checking www.ndsualumni.com  for updates.
 
Q. Who do I contact to reserve a float in the homecoming parade?
A. Contact NDSU Campus Attractions at 701-231-7221 or ndsu.campus.attractions@ndsu.edu.
 
Q. Does NDSU have a continuing education program?
A. Yes – NDSU offers both continuing education and graduate degree programs. Click here for the Distance and Continuing Education Department.
 
Q. What are the benefits that the Alumni Association provides to alumni?

Q. How do I secure a copy of my diploma or transcript?

Q. How do I make a donation to the university?
A. Your donation makes an impact. Click here to donate to the University.
 
Q. How do I inform the university of the death of an alumna?
A. Click here to notify the NDSU Alumni Association of the death of an alumnus.
 
Q. Can you tell me about the online alumni directory?
A.

Alumni Connect: The NDSU Alumni Association provides a complimentary online directory for graduates. The online directory lists NDSU graduates and allows searches by name, city, major, etc.

There is also space to share your personal and professional news. Proprietary and personal information is password protected and you can choose to keep your information private from others.

You can register online. Once registration is processed, you will received approval for access.

 
Q. Does NDSU have a Facebook page?
A.

Facebook: NDSU has a group on Facebook. At the group page view photos, participate in discussion boards, visit related links, get caught up on recent news, view upcoming events, find other members and more.

 
Q. How do I get to the Alumni Center?
A. The Alumni Center is located at 1241 North University Drive, just east of the NDSU campus. For a map to the Alumni Center, click here.
 
Q. Do I need to have an NDSU degree to secure Alumni Association services and information?
A. An NDSU degree is not required to take advantage of many of the services offered through the Alumni Association.
 
Q. What is Team Makers and how can I become involved?
A. Team Makers is a non-profit organization committed to raising scholarship funds for student-athletes and assisting them in earning degrees for a successful future. For information on how to become a member of Team Makers, click here.
 
Q. Is there a student group associated with the Alumni Association?
A. Yes. The Bison Ambassadors student group is funded by the NDSU Alumni Association.
